Avoiding Change Fatigue: Keeping Sight of Humans with Ongoing Change

Discuss with fellow UWEBC members some practical ways to help teams navigate overlapping changes while staying motivated and productive.

- 2:00 PM

Description

Managing multiple change initiatives at once can overwhelm employees, leading to change fatigue—when people feel exhausted, disengaged, or resistant to new efforts. This session focuses on practical ways to help teams navigate overlapping changes while staying motivated and productive. Attendees will learn why understanding the human side of change is critical to sustaining progress.

Key takeaways include:

  • How to identify and address signs of change fatigue early.
  • Tips for clear communication and aligning changes with team values.
  • Simple, actionable strategies to involve individuals and boost their sense of resilience.

We will hear from:

  • Rachel Breitbach, Practice Lead and Senior Advisor at UWEBC member FarWell
  • Chad McGehee, Director of Meditation Training for UW Athletics
  • Dr. Jirs Meuris, Professor of Management and HR, Wisconsin School of Business

These leaders will share strategies and tips to avoid change fatigue in an ever-changing world. This session will leave participants - individual contributors, leaders and whole teams - with a roadmap for balancing organizational goals and employee well-being, fostering a culture where change feels manageable and meaningful.
